How we check what we publish
Every question and rule statement is written from a specific clause of a primary source: legislation, CASA or CAA NZ guidance. The clause is quoted word for word, and an automated test checks the quote against the stored document. Before a question can be labelled pilot-reviewed, a second, independent check tries to prove the answer wrong and a licensed pilot approves it.
Each question shows its status. “Source-checked” means the machine checks passed. “Pilot-reviewed” means a licensed pilot approved it. “Instructor-reviewed” means a flight instructor has audited it. We will not call anything exam-ready until an instructor has.
Our questions are original. We never use recalled CASA or Aspeq exam questions: sharing real exam content is an offence, and it does not teach you anything.
Learning only
Overhead Join is for education. It is not for navigation, flight planning or use in flight. It is not authorised aeronautical information and it is not an approved data service. Always check the AIP, ERSA or AIP New Zealand, current NOTAMs and official weather before you fly. Time in our circuit trainer is not approved simulator time and cannot be logged.
Privacy
Right now your flight plan, practice history, currency check and settings stay in your browser. The only thing that leaves your device is a problem report, if you send one: what you write, an email address if you give one, and the page you sent it from. Reports are stored in Sydney. When accounts arrive we will ask only for your email, store data in Australia, never sell it, never show ads, and let you download or delete everything at any time. Overhead Join is for people aged 16 and over.
